Bratislava parking tips

Parking is a main question in most big cities, but the regulations and conditions are different everywhere. Let’s see the situation in Bratislava.

In the downtown, in most of the streets it is obligatory to purchase and mark the one- hour parking cards till 4 pm, which are really cheap, only € 0.70. These can be bought from the yellow jacket traffic wardens or from kiosk.

Several parking spaces are reserved; these are marked with a white cross on the asphalt or with a blue P-Reserve road sign, sometimes protected by inbuilt iron-columns.

Towing

Cars can be towed if they disturb the traffic and the owner is not available. These vehicles are transported to the area called Black Forest in Vlcsie Hrdlo (Wolf Throat) part of the city.

If someone wants to get the car back he or she should contact the police (the overall city police number 159 , the towed cars registration number is 02/45643817), but be prepared for a hefty fine and the repurchase price.

The cars are available between 7:30 and 22.

Wheel clamp

In all other cases wheel clamps are used, they include a phone number, but you can get information on the police number (159) as well.
